I use Chromium browser almost exclusively. Also since I've been using M$ Windows since 3.0 I'm pretty much hard wired to using the min max close options on the right. I changed my settings using unity tweak to adjust, and in chromium I chose use system settings for title and borders ... then the buttons disappeared, when I revert back to not using system settinge the only button that is functional is close?

you'd better not changing the default settings as the window system decoration is still not fixed.
Help Ubuntu Focal Upgrades
Thank you, I'm pretty agressive with testing since the daily 13.04 is basically throw away for me ... I'm running 12.10 on both an old laptop (32 bit) and an up-to-date tower (64 bit) Some other sage one one of these posts has a saying loosely quoted here 'if it ain't broke you haven't tweaked it enough' ;-()

I'm in Chromium Canary right now -- Version 27.0.1452.0 [190309] -- via Gnome-Shell 3.8.0.1 DE Window decoration(s) with min/max/close on right-side works fine. The problem with the disappearing buttons cropped up last week during a Compiz upgrade. Supposedly, the disappearing Unity/Compiz buttons was patched, but they're still going AWOL on my install (Unity DE). I just did an incremental upgrade, and some of them involved Compiz, but I haven't restarted and tested Unity yet. I'll go give it a whirl, and see if there's any improvement. BBL

I believe the trick is to perform all customazations using unity and unity tweak, then revert to gnome session fall back
