    unable to view few hardwares

    Hi,

    I have recently purchased a new laptop, with AMD chip, I have installed ubantu 12.04 on a friend's recomndation, but i am unable to find certain hardwares, such as camera etc. can anyone help me in this regard.

    Did it produce a bunch of output stuff?

    If so, open your home folder and look for the lshw.txt file.
    Open the file and select all and copy.
    Then open a reply in the thread and click on the # button in the reply box toolbar.

    From what I gather this

    Bus 001 Device 003: ID 04f2:b23b Chicony Electronics Co., Ltd
    seems to be the camera.

    Unfortunately, I can't find anything about its compatiblity with linux.

    It is listed as an unknown device in Ubuntu certified hardware listing
