    Real Player

Im having trouble trying to get Real Player version SP 1.1 to work in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS It will not allow me to record CD's into its Library It also doesn't see the Music CD in my DVD/CD drive. Please someone help by giving me plain english instructions on fixing this. I have been trying to use this Operating System for the last 3 days.

    Re: Real Player

If I'm not mistaken ubuntu doesn't mount cds/dvds automatically like windows. If it is like KDE(my desktop enviroment), when you insert a new media a window will popup, letting you to explore the cd. Once you click on it, the media will be mounted, and you can try again to burn or play the cd.
    One vision, one purpose.

Not sure what you want to do. Are you trying to rip music from audio CDs? There are many applications that can do that like sound juicer or k3b. I don't think real player even supports Linux any more (and not really care for it either, there are much better music players and there may be some sites where you have to have real player to access their contents but there are always alternatives)

It's what I use in Windows 7 and I like the fact that when I record songs into the library they are recorde as MP#'s. I figured the would be the best way to learn to use this Operating System by trying to configure a program I already know.
