Hi people ,

Can you please let me know how or what i should use to get new themes

i.e which distro are you using.
unity or gnome.

I dont actualy know i am using 12.04 lts on a netbook

So it's Ubuntu then. Go to gnome-look.org. They have lots of themes for Ubuntu. The themes are in the GTK3 section. BUT THEY HAVE TO STATE GTK 3.4 COMPATIBLE. Then to apply the theme, you will have to install myunity "sudo apt-get install myunity". That program lets you tweak Unity and the theme.

assuming then its unity dock on the left hand side then
first install ubuntu tweak http://www.webupd8.org/2012/11/ubunt...untu-1210.html
then i use this for themes http://www.noobslab.com/2011/11/them...110-unity.html

look for the gtk themes in 12.04
instructions are given with the theme which you want to install.
