Looking for a mini PCI-e TV tuner

    Hello guys,

I have a Dell XPS 17 L702x laptop, it's came with a built-in TV tuner (AverMedia A338 Hybrid Analog/ATSC) which doesn't have Ubuntu/Linux support and I'm really tiered of seeking for solution to get it to work.
Now, would you kindly suggest me a good mini PCI-e TV tuner that would work in Ubuntu/Linux out-of-the box or at-least there is solution for it to get it to work.

    Thanks in advance,

    Mehrdad

I bought the BlackGold BGT3620, but had to return it due to lack of sensible driver support. Keep an eye out though, as their support people told me that new drivers would be released mid-April.

If you search for "TBS PCI-E DVB-T2 Dual TV Tuner Card High Definition Digital Free to Air Tuner (DVB-T/DVB-T2) Receiver - TBS6280" you'll see the replacement I bought. Still trying to optimise it, but it's getting a picture using Mythbuntu at least.

It got me thinking though, TBS seem pretty linux friendly.

    One to watch out for.

Thank you for taking time and sending me these information, but what you basically say is that there is no mini pci-e TV tuner that would have worked out-of-the box with Linux at the moment?!

There doesn't look to be much, that's for sure. I did find this, but not sure how up to date the info is.

Thank you for the link, I've visited linuxtv hundreds of times and I don't know how I've missed this page!!
Sundtek seems pretty Linux friendly, I've just had a conversation with their support team and they confirmed that 'Sundtek MediaTV MiniPCIe' will work. Now I have to wait to get the card and see it in action.

Again, thank you for your help.
