    Upgrade recommendations for Lemur Ultra

Happy Lemur Ultra owner. I think it's time to upgrade the drive to an SSD.
I'm looking at 250 gb Samsung or maybe a Crucial 256. Any reason there'd be a problem with either one? I doubt it, but thought I'd check to see if there are any recommendations.

Also need a few more gbs of RAM. Chrome and Thunderbird are getting RAM hungry. Looks like I have a free slot and was thinking of adding a 4gb Crucial. Any reason that wouldn't work?

I've upgraded my own laptops before, but thought I'd check in. Thanks.

We recommend Intel and Crucial M4 drives, since those are what we test with and know to work well. Most other SSDs tend to fail our QA testing.

What model Lemur do you have and how much RAM did it come with? This information will help me make an accurate answer.

Hello, I recently purchased a Samsung 840 250GB SSD from Amazon. When it arrived, I replaced a 750GB SATA in my fairly new PanP9. From the time I press the On switch to Logon screen is less than 10 seconds. I thought so much of the Samsung SSD, I ordered another one from eBay for my spouse's laptop.
No matter which make, model, capacity of SSD you decide on, it is a good upgrade.

Cheers, may the BSOD never confront your eyes.

It's the Lemu4. Most recent model. Came with 4gb ram. Looked inside and saw one chip of samsung RAM in one slot. Other slot was empty.
And thanks. I've had a lot of success with Crucial, so that works for me.

Yeah, I'm really excited about quicker boot times.

As long as the RAM is 204-pin DDR3-1600MHz, it should work fine. For the best chances, you should look into using Samsung RAM to match the module that's already installed.
