Ok, I never actually learned this (I "cheated" by using google groups) and am now having a question mark hover over my head. Basically, if I have the following list (and obviously, I've subscribed to it):

How do I, from my mail box, reply to the first thread?

Not sure if you can now, but why not subscribe properly to the mailing list (e.g. have the mails mailed to you) that way you can reply.

And the first thread is from 2010, do you really want to reply to that?

Not right away, unless I find something super-specific . But, if you did subscribe and you did want to answer to an e-mail from 2010, how would you do it?
