Transport stream to .... something else

    Hi Folks,

    I have a Humax HDR-FOX T2. However, I can't transcode the .ts file.

Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit. Nothing too special loaded.

avconv reports "could not find codec parameters".

    VLC won't play it.

KDenlive doesn't think it is a valid clip.

I've done a lot of the usual searching, but people are talking above my head. They're also talking about chopping the first 400K off the .ts file as part of a known issue from last October.

If I followed all the advice given, I feel like I could really end up bloating my install with loads of testing; something I want to try and avoid.

If anyone can help me out here, I'd appreciate it.

Edit - VLC won't even tell me any information about the file, and avconf won't tell me either.

It really sounds like the file is broken, can you place it online somewhere? It would make diagnosis of the problem easier...
You think that's air you're breathing now?
