I am running Ubuntu 12.04, from a newbie standpoint, and today I installed the latest version of Wine, as well as the newest windows versions of Firefox and Java, the reason being that some websites I need to use won't let me run the IcedTea plugin, and the support guy told me to try with a windows emulator.
However, I took my lessons from some of these older guides, and they might be faulty?

The problem is, that even though Firefox works fine, I'm told I need a plugin to run Java. It won't open up Java Runtime automatically (security reasons?).
I know I'm supposed to turn on the Java (TM) Platform plugin, but for some reason I can't find it at all. I've heard about this problem at other sites, but I couldn't find an workable answer.
