Getting rid of startup password page

How do I get rid of the startup password page and automatically start a progrm when starting the computer ?
I want to program a raspberry pi to be an mp3 player so that museum staff just have to switch it on and it will start looping an audio file - there will be no keyboard/monitor/mouse attached which is why I need to get rifd of the password screen at the begining and start this (PD patch) program automatically.

What distribution are you using? Raspbian? Does it use /etc/inittab?
