I totally cannot figure out how to select File, Edit, or ANYthing on the menu bar of LibreOffice using a keyboard shortcut. I'm somewhat disabled and have great difficulty using a mouse. Will SOMEone please help??
On my computer F10 works, but I'm using Xubuntu, so it may be different in Unity.
Hold 'Alt' & type 'F', that will open the file menu
Hope that helps.

Hi carl_schulze - are you using Ubuntu with Unity? If so, I'm able to access the file menu using ALT+F, the edit menu using ALT+E, etc in my 12.04 installation - but only by pressing both keys pretty well at the same time. If I press ALT too long before the other key, I get the Dash command.
Hope this helps!

Dear codemaniac,
Where is the other thread for this issue? Could you post a link?
Thank you,

Play. F6 highlights File, up and down arrows open and close it, left and right highlight the various headings. Solved.
* With further playing I realise F6 actually moves the highlight around to other things ...
