    password problems

Recently I added a new account for my son to use as a seperate login on our tv computer.
It used a different password. He's 4 and I wanted to him to learn about using computers.

About a day later I decided to simplify, and revert to the one account. I deleted the new account and when I went to choose a new password for my account, I discovered that the accounts are now all out of whack.

    What should I do?

Reinstall or is there a way to somehow fix this.

My password works to unlock the keyring, but it will not work to update the system.

"all out of whack"... means what exactly? how did you delete the account?

You can reset your original account's password and if necessary fix 'sudo' as described here:

    Re: password problems

Sorry steeldriver. That was pretty vague of me.

There now appears to be several passwords associated with my account. Or, if that isn't right, then my account doesn't seem to work with everything. For example, my pasword unlocks the keyring pop up that keeps pestering, but it won't unlock the user accounts or sudo.
In Settings I simply clicked on the minus button to remove his account.

I'll see if your link helps.
    Cheers.

Does pkexec still work as a replacement for sudo?

    Cheers steeldriver!
The password reset tutorial worked like a charm.
Seems to be back to normal here.

    Thank you
