    Possible future applications (what do you want to see)

    Hello all,

    I have received many request of application request for future addition into UCE. Some apps i have heard from and others i have not so i wanted to start a single thread that is used to bring applications that you all would like to see in UCE. Of course i will try and run them through wine if there is not a native linux version and this will require much testing. NOTE: You can simple reply to this thread with the application and i will add it to this list.

    Logos Bible Software 5
    Logos Bible Software 4
    WORDsearch 10
    Bible Explorer 4
    Glo Bible
    gverse (will have to be compiled from source)
    Script to pull down daily verses on desktop. (Not a app aside from a script using conky but it was requested by multiple people as a good idea. This script compliments of our own nixblog here on the forums which i intend to include in next release.)

    We have the source code for WeatherBug for Linux, but as of right now, it won't launch. It's also tied to Java, which I don't care for. If someone is willing to take it, free it from Java, and turn it into a working Linux app, I could put you in touch with my Linux guy at WeatherBug.

    I also work for WeatherBug, and having WeatherBug back on my Linux system would be fun.

    If Proclaim can be tested to see if it runs in WINE, that'd be interesting as well. It's church presentation software. Trying to think of other good tools UCE could include. Let me ponder it over.

    For daily verses, check out Verse if the Day from Biblia/Logos Bible Software. That'd give you the high res images you need.

    My company (Mallard) is wanting to get into building some apps and customizations for Linux (I'd also like to have a custom theme built sometime). Anyone interested PM me and I'll you all what we're interested in.

    Jethro Pastoral Ministry Manager: http://jethro-pmm.sourceforge.net/about.php

    Maybe include the following from the default Ubuntu CE Build.
    SQLite Database Manager
    SQLiteManager

    Instructions, or a script for Installing:
    The WatchTower Library (2013 or earlier)(Different years require playing with different configuration settings in WINE.);
    The LDS Library 2009 or The LDS Library 2006;

    An old blog post, but worth considering, is http://sword-and-scabbard.blogspot.c...christian.html.
    And now I bend the knee of my heart,
    Imploring you for your kindness.

    Thank you for the application suggestions. They all will be looked at to see about future releases. Just a heads up my current focus is a easy to use gui for dansguardian/privoxy.

    Sounds good! A GUI for dansguardian would be great. Keep up the great work!

    BTW, tested Logos 4, 5, and BE4, and so far not getting too far under WINE. I'm going to re-test on a CrossOver Trial and see if I see better results. Need to find my WS10 installer so I can test it.

    A few more for the list (let me know if you need licenses to these): GRLevel3, GR2Analyst, GR Earth. They're the big three weather apps I use. If I can install them under WINE or CrossOver, it'll drastically reduce my Windows dependency.
