    Unhappy steam games

    i installed steam so i can play lots of games, but when i try to play for free it says not availiable on your current platform. its says its a windows game but is thats what wine is for? can i only play linux games?

    You can only play Linux games in Linux.

    You can play some Windows games with Wine, but you'll need to check each of them against WineHQ's AppDB to know if they are likely to work.

    If you want to play Windows Steam games you'll need to run Steam in Wine. PlayOnLinux makes that fairly straightforward.

    Actually, I might not mean PlayOnLinux, I might mean WineTricks. I'm not at my computer at the moment, so I can't check. One of them lets you set up per-application profiles with some particular settings, anyway.
