Ok, so, I thouhgt maybe I should share this. So you know how linux folks are always complaining and talking about how they wish they could have netflix with linux? Well, fwiw, I just found out about some kind of open source code for netflix. Maybe it could form the basis for a linux way to connect to it (other than with wine I mean).

I wasn't talking about the contest I was talking about source code being accessible to the linux community. Source code which may (or may not - idk) be useful for developing a pure linux soln to watching netfix on a linux box.

but it looks like they're talking about the service delivery of data, from cloud to the desktop, not the actual specifics of why Netflix doesn't work on linux, which is likely because of a lack of DRM and/or the investment in linux doesn't seem worth it and/or they built their product based on Microsoft Silverlight ( In its simplest form, video is streamed to the user using standard PC hardware, and requires Microsoft's Silverlight software to be installed[1]) which doesn't have a linux equivalent (or did in the Mono project but that appears to have died).
