Could anyone tell me what is used for the random wallpaper? Is it a third party wallpaper change or has pc fman been altered in some way?

Re: LXLE - Lubuntu Extra Life Extension

Hi everyone, I did have this in another thread. Now it is over here, sorry

    Hi Everyone

I have a Dell Inspiron Mini 10, and LXLE boots goofy, and I would like it to be fixed if possible.

Well I got my Dell Mini 10 fairly good now, I have windows xp on 1 side, the other side is a variant of lubuntu called LXLE, Lubuntu Extra Life Extension. It is about 1 gig so it won't fit of a standard CD. I got it on a USB flash drive.

Anyway the way it boots up is a little goofed up,

    Lubuntu is ready to boot
1 Nothing is displayed on the screen. All black.
2 I hit ctrl,fn,alt, F1 and then there is - blinking and if you wait 2 lines of numbers
3 I hit fn,alt F7 and then it has about 1/2 screen, I then log in and it is fine, only 1/2 screen
4 Then I Logout Logout and it reboots and magicly it is fixed!

This is a stretch, but how do I fix it!

It is not a problem per say, but I would like to fix it.

What did you use to put it on a flash drive? There is no where during install where it says "Lubuntu is ready to boot"

Re: LXLE - Lubuntu Extra Life Extension

    I miss spoke, sorry.
I have a dual system on my Dell mini 10, Windows XP, and LXLE, a version of Lubuntu.

When I pick Lubuntu, Lubuntu comes up fine then the screen goes black.
I have found (with a lot of screwing around) if I press ctrl,fn,alt then press F1 I will get some function back. I have to press fn too, it is in my BIOS.
Then if I press fn,alt then F7 I will get the prompt, but only half of the screen the bottom is black.
After I input my password it is good, only half of the screen.
I then select Logout, and then it is fixed, the screen is fixed!

When I was installed for the first time I had to be several step ahead because I had only half of the screen, it made the install tricky at best.

Everything else works fine when I have it going. Please advise.

    - What is your graphics chip/card?
    - What graphics driver are you running (built in or proprietary)?

You can use hardinfo to get information about it.

Do you use any boot option?

Re: LXLE - Lubuntu Extra Life Extension

The Ubuntu flavours (including LXLE) should work well with Intel hardware. Maybe there is a questionmark at the Broadcom (wifi?) network controller, but I don't know if that is causing your problem. Can you switch off the wifi (either a hardware switch or a setting in the BIOS menu) to test if that is the problem?
