A script to pull file from server

70 years of age and I really don't know how I get involved with this nonsense............
I have been asked to write a script to suck a file from another PC, backup.
Give us a clue lads, I haven't done this sort of thing for over 10 years now.
Point me in the right direction what is the best thing to use and any words of advice.
    Cheers.

If I understand correctly, you need to pull just one file periodically. This won't take much of script, possibly just one command will be enough. The details depend on what the other PC is running and how you connect to it. E.g. if it's Linux and ssh, you could use scp.

Provide more background and we'll write something for you. :)
