    DVD drive goes missing

    Hello Linux masters,

I have been randomly loosing my dvd drive recenly and now it doesn't even come up when I boot.

Any thoughts as to what the problem may be?

This has happened before (with the same install) - I brought a new dvd writer a couple of months ago as this happened with the last one too?

    Please help
    Linux baby

    Hello

I am having the same issue. Occasionally my DVD drive doesn't show. I load media into the drive but it doesn't seem to do anything...

Anyone know how to get your DVD drives to re-appear?

try updating the software and hd configuration files? Maybe the drive is not supported...no drivers. check the manufacture's website for linux drivers? Seems like this was already discussed. Make sure its mounted....
