    Creating man pages

    Hi,

I've just created my own program like cat, ls etc. and modified the .bashrc file in my home directory so I can just type a command (such as 'cat') to run it. In the spirit of things, I'd like to create my own manual page to go with it (even though I do know how to use my own command, of course), but I really don't know how to go about doing this. I tried a quick google search but I couldn't really find anything of use.

Any help on this would be appreciated,
    Cheers.

    Re: Creating man pages

Manual pages are written in a markup language (usually some form of *roff, I believe), then compressed and installed in the system manual path under the correct section.

http://www.linuxhowtos.org/System/creatingman.htm is quite helpful, although it took some finding.

    Good luck!

don't have time to look at it properly yet, but it looks like a great page. Thanks.
