    Thumbs down Screensavers

I have loaded Ubuntu 12.04 but a lot of things that were in other versions are not in this version. Eg. Where do I find the settings for 'Screensavers' that were in the other versions . I have been looking for over 24 hrs but no find. Can somone please help. I want to have a screen saver running and also cut out the 'Login' each time the screen goes blank.

What 'flavor' of Ubuntu are you using. That will probably make a difference. I am using Xubuntu and the screensavers are on the Application menu|Settings|Settings Manager|Screensavers.

The screensaver is no longer there by default (modern screens don't need saving), but you can install one with the package xscreensaver.

And if you can't find the settings anywhere in the menu's, using the command xscreensaver-demo will give you the settings editor. It's a GUI.

I'm guessing you mean you want to disable the screen lock.

Go to system settings > brightness and lock.

    You can disable it here.

Yeah, you are going to have to install a screensaver through terminal or you might be able to find one in the Software Center. As for the locking, you can just go into system settings, then brightness and lock.

If you pick up a copy of xscreensaver (which is a lot of fun) don't forget to get electricsheep as well .
