Anyone got MIR working in raring?

Interesting. On one of my machines with ATi Radeon 1200x series I was able to use type-mir in the lightdm.conf file and even reboot into that file. Lightdm did not come up (black screen with blinking cursor) but I got all my terminals working. I was able to switch back to different terminals and then remove type =mir with nano. While I was in tty1 I ran (sleep 5; mir_eglplasma) & mir ; kill $! and got the following. An inverted Ubuntu-Desktop with a slipt ) Now things are getting interesting indeed lol

I just realized somthing . It may be nothing but in the morning I am going to try and set my screen resolution to a lower scale , experiment there and see what happens.

Can't set resolution because display widget will not come up .. Wrong driver I think.

Followup:

I was able to set display from <settings. but to no avail to get Mir to work in raring in any sense .

The most recent updates allowed me to run that 'mir & htop' tty1 with a lot better functioning. This time it loaded , ran high in the CPU then dropped back down. With the nvidia/nouveau you have to do that little switch ... to CTRL+ALT+F7 .. then ESC .... then back to CTRL+ALT+F1 .. and you can quit Htop and run the 'mir & htop' again with no prob, but loose lightdm logon until reboot.

For what it is worth .. you can see 'R' for MIR running in raring !!

I am just not sure that this was the content in which grahammechanical was trying to describe it. They both basically mean the same thing .. something that looses it's value and no attention is paid to it. No offence to you at all .. but I wonder why we are veering to phonics discussion !

Then it is running! I just think that there may have been a misunderstanding at present that it would run the ubuntu-desktop. Hey ..at this point. any instance of mir is worth reporting! .
