Cannot burn 12.10 64 bit to DVD

I downloaded Ubuntu 12.10 64 bit and found it is too large to burn to a CD. I tried to burn it to a DVD both + and - , and it would not let me do that.

What is the secret to burning it to a DVD? A friend also downloaded 12.10 64 bit and could not get to burn a DVD.

    Thank You

What is the software you are using to burn the iso to a DVD?. You can use brasero or better, K3b. What is the problem?, what are the errors found, if any? what ubuntu release are you using?.

    I use k3b
Just have the blank DVD in the drive
Then navigate to the .iso in k3b and click it or double click depending on your settings
    k3b will do a md5summ check
    Now you can burn it

I found the problem. We were using Nero in a Windows XP machine, it would not let us burn to disk. I used my laptop with duel boot and used xfburn in ubuntu 12.04. Problem solved. Thank you both for your help.
