usb install
hi all i bought a ubuntu 12.10 usb hoping this will help my install issues , after making my own and trying to install only to get boot error .
so i try the ubuntu usb only to get the same result boot error .
i set my pc to boot to usb but it wont mount the usb

can you give some information about the computer:
- processor
- ram
- graphics
- bios or uefi
- computer model

intel media board dual core chip , tarabite hard drive 8 gigs of ram running a 64 bit windows 7 os .
i want to run ubuntu only no windows

i built it in a antec 900 case
hard drive is a western digital green
intel dual core chip
8 gig of ram
not sure of graphics card
cool master power supply

Is your BIOS UEFI, with secure boot enabled?

Video may be the issue. We do need to know video card or chip. Most will work with nomodeset.

The new i-series Intel chip based motherboards usually have an UEFI/BIOS configuration. Older duo Core usually are just BIOS.

i had help fixing the usb i went to a friend showed him my system he said i did install but still was getting boot error .
So we formated the usb started over making sure the boot loader was present , i now have a ubuntu 12.10 fresh install 
Some how the ubuntu usb i bought from ubuntu.com was not complete it would install on my windows 7 but not boot
Now all i ned to do is figure out how to shut down my system i suspect i have a server install for it wont turn off . i was
told severs dont turn off , i can shut down but my system wont shut down
