Scanner Scans and THEN is not found.

Using simple scan to scan a document will result in the scanner becoming "not found." Power cycling the scanner OR closing and reopening simple scan brings it back online and I can scan another page.

I'd appreciate a starting point on this. Is there an alternative to Simple Scan that I could maybe use to see if it is hardware related? I got the scanner for free a while back, and while I had trouble with it on Windows it would find 16 months ago on my Ubuntu box.

    Thanks!

Re: Scanner Scans and THEN is not found.

I think this might be a hardware problem. It appears to be working now. Any comments still welcome. The scanner is an Epson Perfection 2450 Photo connected via USB to an Acer Aspire 5315-2681 running Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS, in case anyone has similar problems in the future.

Couldn't figure out how to edit thread to have a [SOLVED] tag for some reason...
