How can I prevent http://noscript.net opening their web page on my machine?

Hi everrybody,

About once a week http://noscript.net opens when I start my machine. I have installed their security filter that basically blocks all links and scripts when a web page opens and asks for clearance on a variety of items. I imagine it is a Firefox plugin. I find it quite useful.
I do have a problem with a web page opening all by itself. I find that intrusive. I have even more of a problem with an entity that doesn't have the courtesy to respond to my request for advice. After insisting half a dozen times without ever being favored with a reply, perhaps some expert on this forum could advise.

Danielle, thanks for responding. Sorry for being unclear. My question is: where should I look for the thing that opens the page? Linux systems have a bunch of configuration scripts in confusing abundance and levels of activation. Grepping them all hasn't turned up any clues. So it probably is the application itself that calls the url. If so, the simple way to stop the intrusion is to uninstall the program. Before I do that I am making sure it is indeed the only way.

From within Firefox open > Add Ons > Extensions and click on the "preferences" button for the the noscript extension.
Choose the "notifications" tab and unselect the option to "Display the release notes on updates".
