Resolving Bad Google Certificate Error Message ???

In order to now receive my Google Gmail into Evolution I have to answer the following error message EVERY TIME:

    SSL Certificate check for smtp.gmail.com:

    Issuer: CN=Google Internet Authority,O=Google Inc,C=US
    Subject: CN=imap.gmail.com,O=Google Inc,L=Mountain View,ST=California,C=US
    Fingerprint: a5:2a:01:f4:9b:b0:ac:6f:c5:19:ab:60:d1:17:fe:26
    Signature: BAD

    Do you wish to accept?

Is there a straightforward method to resolve this problem? It's just a PITA to have this happen all the time now....

    Thanks,

    Ed

    Running 12.04 LTS Ubuntu

It's not related to the Chrome browser but to receipt of certificate information by the Evolution email handler from Gmail. No browser is running.
