Even the start of rc1 in mainline is as usual, couple of days to clear all compile glitches...
But we like it that way, don't we...

Yeah, I noticed that as well. For the Newbies here, don't try installing it yet the other 3 packages are still MIA.

It looks like the development for Linux Kernel v3.9 is going to be a quick one.

Is Linux Kernel v3.9 going to be included in Ubuntu 13.04 (Raring Ringtail)?

I just installed Linux Kernel v3.8.2 last night and all is good.

    ? no idea.

I never did a kernel update on ubuntu before (actually I lie since 13.04 does update kernels but it does so automatically without my input)

is there a guide where you can follow step by step guides on updating to 3.9 ?

OK, so You want to use mainline kernel...
    1. find kernel You want to use (go to http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/ and pick one, like with file on PC)
    2. find 4 that are OK with Your architecture (3 for Your architecture and one with „all“ in its name)
    3. DL them to Your machine
    4.
    Code:
    sudo dpkg -i names_of_files.deb
Next time You reboot pick one that You've installed...
