    USB-Keyboard detection

    Hi,

I hope this is the right place to ask...
So I have pgraded my ancient pentium4 to a i7 and had to buy a new motherboard as well, I chose a ASRock Z77M which has a PS2 keyboard port and several USB-ports. I have a USB-keyboard which works via IR or something and worked on my old mb very well. However now, if I want to enter the UEFI (new BIOS) I cannot use my USB-keyboard to do this but have to attach a PS2 keyboard and disconnect my USB-keyboard which is really annoying because I always have to crawl under my desk...

Will an adpter from USB to PS2 fix this issue or do I have to contact ASRock for some kind of BIOS update to fix this issue (already tried updating it with the built-in update utility, worked fine but still no USB-keyboard) or have I forgotten to configure something in the BIOS to enable USB-keyboard detection?

Hope someone can help me here
    Thanks for all your effort!

I have the legacy enabled. First it was set to enabled, now I have tried it with auto, but still nothing.

    Re: USB-Keyboard detection

Wireless USB keyboard works using a USB plug that has to be inserted into a USB slot, since there is no USB cable plugged into the PC for the keyboard.

I use such a keyboard and have found that the USB plug (for the keyboard) has to be plugged into one of the rear USB slots on the motherboard. Plugging it into one of the front slots, or into any of the slots on my USB hub, will not work.
    Ubuntu 14.04, Mint 17; MS Win 8.1.
Will not respond to PM requests for support -- use the forums.

My USB connector is connected to the motherboards USB-plugs.
I haven't yet connected any front usb-connectors to the mobo^^
