Screen Issue (Different Size)

Hi,

I just recently installed Ubuntu 12.10, I am quite new to Linux and have been installing it on and off. I plan to keep it permanent this time since I got a new HDD. Anyway to the point. I got two screens one is an actual TV but I use it as a monitor as well, the other is an acer 19" wide which is my main monitor, the acer one displays full 1440x900, but my TV monitor does not it displays 1024*768, it is also not picked up my Ubuntu, it says "unknown" the acer monitor was picked up.
