I've even managed to get the lock screen shortcut keys to not work without even trying
I'm still working on themeing the lock screen but i've only spent a week of solid googeling and with the success I've had so far, I think I'm going to be able to solve that one in October this year.
My grungy desktop with Cinnamon.

This is a preliminary run of my new Raspberry Pi, running Arch ARM. I've already run Bodhi Linux ARM on it, but then my new fast 32GB SD card came in, so I put Arch ARM on that one to play around with it. With the Pi having little resources to work with, I decided to throw LXDE on there. Granted, I've never worked with a totally vanilla LXDE install (my only LXDE experiences are Lubuntu and Peppermint OS), so it's a bit rough around the edges and I haven't added proper GTK themes to complement the openbox themes. I have made some nice custom wallpapers for whatever Raspberry Pi distro I run. I also have these wallpapers in Cherry, East Indian Rosewood, Quilted Maple, and dark Cocobolo... with gold leaf or silver leaf RaspPi logo... in 16:9 and 16:10 versions. I could make more as I get a hold of decent enough wallpapers of various woods.
I do intend to make a small portable HTPC out of my Pi, in addition to making a nice little micro-computer out of it with another SD card. I also intend to build a custom case for it (thinking about various options), a battery pack for it and make it totally portable, and probably a few other neat things too. But for now, this is just an initial run of my Raspberry Pi on the SD card I got specifically for it.

Icons: LXDE default
Special Features: Custom-colored semitransparent lxpanel ; Arch Linux logo on LXDE Menu.
Don't like Unity? Hate it? Not your cup of coffee? Ubuntu does provide choices. There's GNOME Shell, KDE Plasma, Xfce, LXDE, and now MATE and Cinnamon. Take your pick
