    Can I over ride windows 8 with ubuntu 12.04

    Just bought a new laptop with Windows 8 installed, can I bin it and install ubuntu 12.04.

    As always all help and suggestions and ideas greatley appreciated

    You can, but test Ubuntu first to verify that everything works as expected.

    If we are dealing with brand-new hardware I would guess that 12.10 is a better choice.
