.... and there was an announcement for several weeks warning of upcoming changes.
Please bear with us while we do the necessary fiddling to make sure the upgrade has worked properly. We can't promise to keep everyone happy, but we'll do what we can to take on board constructive suggestions.

I agree! I really like the little gray option boxes above..Tree for pictures,film for video,etc.
This is very nicely done.
I would change the yellow notices (such as auto saving & announcements) to gray with orange or black lettering as the yellow does not fit in well.
