Firefox very slow

Lately I notice that Firefox seems very slow and unresponsive. Has anyone else noticed this?

I am using Ubuntu 12.04, all the latest updates. I am learning Chinese, so I have various Chinese dictionary pages open. I am using ibus Chinese input. When I type, the letters appear very slowly. This does not change if I quit ibus.

Typing in LibreOffice the speed is normal. There is a delay caused when using Firefox. It is very annoying.

Also, when I click another tab in Firefox, the response time is slow. Something is wrong.

Any idea what might cause this? This has only been like this for a couple of weeks.

I installed Chromium. There is no delay. This is definitely a Firefox problem!!

Fixed it!! If you have this problem, go to Help>Troubleshooting Infformation>Reset Firefox

Backup your bookmarks first! But Firefox preseerved my bookmarks. I didn't need the backup!

The sluggishness has gone! Wuhu!
