    Question Help with Programming Something

I just randomly got this idea of putting an old mic on the bottom of my squeaky chair so that every time I sat down, Ubuntu would wake up automatically. How would I program something like this? I couldn't find any command to monitor the microphone. Don't have too much knowledge about programming in Linux. Any help appreciated!

Lol? Neat idea, but I don't think a microphone is quite what you want. Maybe a pressure sensor or a proximity sensor? You can do a lot of that kind of stuff with pic chips. One of my friends does all kinds of similar stuff with them.

Arduino would be what I recommend. Although what I really recommend is wrapping your mouse cable around your chair leg/arm/seat. Instant solution.

https://launchpad.net/cuttlefish might be worth looking into. It's a program/daemon that responds to stimuli such as bluetooth.
