problem installing ubuntu on vmware 8 on win xp

hi all..
i m trying to install ubuntu 12.04 on vmware workstation 8 ,,(using windows 7)...
it starts installation but after sometime becomes stagnant while showing message that VMware tools is currently being
installed .you may login at line and use but wait for graphical interface...
i can even login at command line and see my system,,,but cant find graphical interface of ubuntu even after a
long time waiting...
i have attacked screen short where it stops
plz guide whats the issue and how to resolve it....

Don't use Easy Install, it is more trouble that it is worth. Do a fresh manual install.
