Installed Ubuntu 12.10 about a month ago to replace Ubuntu 12.04 and noticed that I can no longer access the machine from a Windows XP machine on my wifi network. It may have happened at the upgrade, but also later; I use the network to update some of my files, but do this only once every 2 to 3 weeks. Anyhow, I can still surf the Web and the Ubuntu machine gets out OK on the network and can browse the network and copy files, but this only works one way.
I tried to share different folders and it comes up with an error 255 or something like that. I feel that perhaps my smb.conf file is missing something, but I am no expert here so would not have a clue as to what the problem may be.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Paul.
