    Shutdown, instead of reboot

    Hi,

this is my first post to this forum.

i just ordered a ne machine from a hosting company. When ever I want to reboot the server, it shut itself down, instead of powering on again. This happens on Ubuntu 10.04 and 12.04.

What could it be, where I have to dig into the problem? The hoster thought it's the ACPID, so this is already de-installed.

    Thanks for any help,
    Klaus

Is it a server you access remotely or a local physical PC? Are you running a command or using a button in the UI?
