Question How to install fonts? [Lubuntu 12.10]

    Hello,

I'm a newbie return user to Linux, in this case Lubuntu 12.10. However, I cannot seem to install font ttf font files. When I double click them it brings up a menu asking which program I want to use to install it. I am lost at this point.

Could someone throw an old dog a bone?

    Thank you kindly.

Good writeup. I've deleted fonts I don't want from my /user/share/fonts directory then backed up to a USB drive. For future installs, I can delete the contents of the new /user/share/fonts and copy the folders on the USB drive over. It's SO nice to have straight forward font management.
