Lenovo is generally considered very compatible with linux, not sure
of the specs for your S110 but ubuntu needs as little as 4 gb space
2 gb of ram. I usally install ubuntu on 15gb partition's.

Hello, Personally i like lubuntu, very fast, easy to learn, however less features than ubuntu 12.04. Here are some links for you.

Looking at the specs for your mini, it looks like lubuntu would be the best choice based on the amount of ram. Compatibility should not be a problem as it uses intel hardware.

There are 'smaller' distro's available as well such as, linux puppy
Damn small, Tiny Core, Tiny Me. available here.
