It now defaults to display rather than ask, so if desired change in nautilus preferences > behavior

Don't know what others do, but...

Truth be told, I don't exec files in Nautilus anymore. How about you?!?!?

PCManFM is much more convenient, especially when you need root privs...

Yea looks like I'll be changing. I was using nautilus scripts to open as root which now doesn't work along with the options that seem to be gone with the new GUI.
    Thanks all.

I'm sticking still with nautilus - pcmanfm drives me crazy with how folder/files are ordered, I'm very used to folders/hidden folders/files/hidden files
(could never figure how to have pcman do that...

For all root stuff I now just -
    sudo -i
    nautilus
    or
    sudo -i
    gedit
    ect.

(Ot - for now have abandoned the unity launcher in favor of plank, if I was to use GS I'd also use plank
