i just wiped my drive and did a clean install of xubuntu 12.10 64-bit...before i wiped, i created a share on another ubuntu PC on the network (32-bit 12.10) and copied all my important files to it.

after the new install, i connected to the share and tried to copy my files back to the PC that just had the clean install done...but it just hangs on the first file. strangely enough, if i create a share on the new install and then go to the other PC and copy the files that way (from the backup PC to the share on the new install), it works fine. i can still copy files from the new install over the network to the other PC...just can't copy anything from the a network PC to the new install of xubuntu.

can anyone help give me any ideas where i should even start troubleshooting this? i've never seen anything like this...
