I'll be waiting to see if there is going to be a PPA and what it will take to get it compiled on armhf since the PPAs do not automagically produce ARM packages.

PPA is there but it has no files.

What part of Libreoffice do the MS Publisher and Visio files open in? I guess Visio files open in LO Draw.
Is there editing and exporting to Publisher format, or just read-only opening or conversion to LO Writer format?
I try to treat the cause, not the symptom. I avoid the terminal in instructions, unless it's easier or necessary. My instructions will work within the Ubuntu system, instead of breaking or subverting it. Those are the three guarantees to the helpee.
I tried a Publisher doc and it opened in Writer. I was surprised at how well the fidelity was maintained. I only had to fix an automatic page number that I placed on a master page in the original document. I have not tried to save in Publisher format because I no longer have Publisher to test it.
I found that these instructions make it possible to install parallel versions of LibreOffice - i.e., there is no need to remove the old version:

LibreOffice 4.0 has a new regular expressions engine based on ICU. Does anyone know where to find a user-friendly user guide for the new engine with examples?
Available 'metacharacters' are listed at
http://userguide.icu-project.org/strings/regexp
but there are no examples.
The old list of regular expressions at
https://help.libreoffice.org/Common/...ar_Expressions
seems to be outdated.
Thank you!
Yes. I think it answers my question in the first post.
For trying this I need to remove Libreoffice 4.0, install default Libreoffice 3.5 and reinstall Libreoffice 4.0 as described in /opt.
I hope someone should try it instead.
Thank you.
