    Number lock doesn't automatically come on in Kubuntu 12.04

    I just installed Kubuntu 12.04 on a computer, and the Num Lock doesn't automatically come on. I know it's set up that way in the BIOS, because it always worked when I had standard Ubuntu on the computer before. It seems like maybe it's a KDE desktop issue, because I ran Fedora KDE on this same machine for a short time, and had the same problem. The number lock comes on when the computer starts up, but goes back out when Kubuntu starts to boot up. Any ideas? Thanks!
