Fujitsu ScanSnap ix500 in Ubuntu 12.04

Fujitsu ScanSnap ix500 in Ubuntu 12.04

    sane-find-scanner found scanner (vendor=0x04c5, product=0x132b)

Nothing else seems to find the thing. scanimage -L returns "No scanners were identified" same with gscan2pdf

I think my updates are current, I've tried rebooting, etc. How do I get this scanner to work?

Getting ready to try monkeying around with fujitsu.conf (which doesn't yet show this product) and dll.conf, which I am not really competent to do...

I would be very interested to hear if you can get it working...

I've been watching this thread at http://sane.10972.n7.nabble.com/Fuji...d-td17135.html but so far only very limited support. I am wondering if I should just go ahead and buy the ScanSnap S1500 which will work now.

Thanks for the link. It sounds like they are still a little ways off of getting it fully working. Nice to see the effort, though.

I am seriously thinking of getting the Brother ADS2000 instead. It is a little less expensive and it should have decent Linux support. I have been fairly happy with some other Brother products under Linux.
