    In intro classes? Usually procedural with maybe a note at the end about objects.

    That said, procedural works fine for tick-tack-toe. It's primarily a procedural game and the only benefit using classes brings you is encapsulation of the board implementation (which could be encapsulated anyways by only exporting a "begin_game" function.)

    Then keep asking questions, but the struggle IS important to understanding.

    Have you looked through r-senior's code? It is fairly well written and logical, though it does have more files and parts than someone on Chpt3 just starting C++ should understand. You will come to appreciate nice code like that as much of the real-world code I see is crap in comparison.
