Thumbs down Attempt to Dual Boot 12.04.2 and 13.04 Failed.

Not sure exactly why it did NOT work. I am going to try Virtual Box instead.

No problem here dual - triple - quad booting 1304 with a variety of previous ubuntu's including 12.04.1 updated on test notebook, netbook, tower.

Now 10.10's grub 1.9x has a bit of difficulty with Grub 2's contortions but it will work.

Having said that I haven't "installed" 12.04.2 build, just updated to that level from 12.04 and 12.04.1 installs.

I did not know that 12.04.2 was out yet. It did not come down the update I did to 12.04.1 earlier today. 12.04.2 is supposed to have Grub 2.0 and the Linux 3.5 kernel. Worked fine when I install them a few weeks ago through PPA on a testing 12.04.1 that I have.
It is a machine. It is more stupid than we are. It will not stop us from doing stupid things.

Amd 64 downloaded 1 February Precise daily build, installed on amd64 just like it was supposed to.

Rebooted to Raring came right up O.K. It's actually a quad boot, now two Precise a 32 bit, the 64 bit Precise, a Linux-mint14.1, and Raring 3.8.0-2.

I'll try a couple other boot sequences, so far O.K. on the precise and the raring (well, development bugs of course).

    This is:

    3.5.0-23-generic #35~precise1-Ubuntu SMP Fri Jan 25 17:13:26 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

latest daily build I could find for precise. I don't know if that is 12.04.2 or even later.

Dual booting O.K. BTW, Unity 2D working too.
