Lubuntu doesn't have side bars and dashes. Is that the problem?

    Re: Lost Ubuntu 12.10 sidebar

I had the same problem trying to get Wine to work and all of a sudden everything went berserk and I had no sidebar, no terminal, no dash, colors were wrong and it took me two hours to figure out that I'd lost the Unity interface. Now everything's back to normal, thank God. Search Google for Unity Replace, I think the command is "unity -- replace" but check online (if you still have a browser!). To get to Terminal use Ctrl-Alt-F2. To get back to your GUI use Ctrl-Alt-F7.
