    Gigabyte U2442V compatability?

    Hello there,

I'm on the lookout for a new development laptop and have stumbled across the Gigabyte U2442V as a potential fit. It's one of the very few laptops which match all my requirements: 14", 3rd Gen i7, 1600x900 screen, 16 GBs ram, decent battery life, space for additional harddrive, etc. On paper, it looks like the perfect machine, especially since it's much cheaper than many lesser spec'd laptops.

However, I haven't found any information about whether or not the device has any issues running linux systems. One concern that was brought up when I inquired on IRC was the fact that it's a dual video card system: depending on if it's plugged in or not, it will use a beefier video card. More imporantly, that beefier video card is also capable of CUDA which is a nice to have for a couple of projects I'm working on.

Anyone have any ideas how I can research this problem?

It has hybrid/Optimus graphics, so you'd have to use bumblebee: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bumblebee
