    I did not realise that ~/.abcde.conf could be set in this way, thanks mc4man . I guess you could also specify the OUTPUTTYPE on the commandline rather than manually altering the ~/.abcde.conf file each time, although I have not tested this...

    Well Andrew credit is due it to seeing mc4man's .abcde.conf
    it made me see it was an option that way

    am I right in thinking that the -o option is a new one on abcde


    hey maybe not. Either way ; it is so much easier now; once set up the conf can remain "invivisible"; maybe abcde to my mind much more attractive
