    Failure mounting device after logging in

    on my Toshiba Satelite I can enter my password then this is what I get on the black screen with white bletters... mounting/dev on/root/dev failed: no such file or directory. mounting system/sys on/root/sys/failed: no such file or directory. mounting/proc on/root/proc failed: no such file or directory. Target file system doesn't have /sbin/init. No init found. Try passing int = bootrag. Busy Box v1.13.3(Ubuntu):1.13.3- 1ubuntu11) built in shell (ash) Enterr 'help' for a list of built in commands. (initramfs)_ of course all the commands appear , however I do not know what to do with them. please help..... sincerely sootysteve....thankyou!

    You are having a problem with your root file system.

    The Ubuntu installation is new?

    Try to boot with an Ubuntu CD and the check for data corruption using fsck utility.
